The traning for Islip ARES is provided though our public service events that are listed on the calendar and by the Monday night Suffolk County ARES RACES net.
When: Monday nights at 21:00 (9PM)
Where: Grumman Repeater
Frequency: 145.330 with a pl of 136.5
All amature opperators are encouraged to monitor or check in whether or not you are a member of ARES or RACES.

RACES training is provided for free by FEMA. To become a RACES member you must complete the IS-100 and IS-700 course and pass the test at the end as well as have the aproval of your division Radio Officer. It is also recomended that you take and pass the is-200 and the is-800 courses, but this is not required.
