BASEBALL: Former Nebraska-Kearney coach Damon Day has been hired to lead the Omaha Skutt baseball program.
Day was the coach for the Lopers for 15 years before the program was shut down after the 2018 season. In that time, he led Nebraska-Kearney to 394 wins, two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament titles, one RMAC regular-season title and four NCAA Tournament appearances.
After that, he founded and was lead instructor at the Central Nebraska Baseball Academy.
FISHING: Nebraska's Hunter Suchsland and Cade Ludwig finished 10th at the Strike King Bassmaster College National Championship at Pickwick Lake in Counce, Tennessee. The caught 15 fish weighing 46 pounds, 6 ounces during the three-day event. Auburn won with 15 fish weighing 53 pounds, 12 ounces.
